Job Requirements for Grain Farm Worker Position
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience is an asset, but not mandatory
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or valid work permit holders only)
- Willingness to work outdoors in various conditions (heat, rain, dust)
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, operating machinery, and standing for long periods
- Comfortable with frequent travel between farm locations
- Steel-toed safety boots required
Responsibilities for Grain Farm Worker Position
- Plant, cultivate, and irrigate grain and soybean crops
- Apply fertilizers and sprays to enhance growth
- Harvest crops and prepare them for sale or storage
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment such as tractors and harvesters
- Carry out general farm duties including maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep
- Follow biosecurity and farm safety procedures at all times
- Assist in crop monitoring, quality control, and seasonal rotations
Other Responsibilities
- Support in inventory tracking and proper waste management
- Monitor environmental conditions to adjust farm operations
- Participate in seasonal farm activities like crop rotation and soil preparation
- Follow health, safety, and sustainable farming practices
